Moray Firth Dolphins Play

Some excellent dolphin watching opportunities exist in Scotland particularly around

and between the Aberdeen and Moray Firth areas.

Notable places on the East coast from which to see the Moray Firth Dolphins

include North Kessock and Spey Bay.

There are dolphin watching trips available but there is nothing more satisfying than watching Whale and Dolphin activity fom a land base.

No disturbance to them but awesome results for you.

Scotland, not just the Moray Firth, provides many opportunities for dolphin watching and for sightings of other marine mammals.

Solitary bottlenose dolphins living off the UK coast appear from time to time. Showing up close to shore and even interacting with humans.

Tragically, friendly dolphins are often killed or injured, boat propellers, fishing lines /nets/ ropes often being the cause.

The more dolphins associate with people, the higher the risk to the animal .

BDMLR - British Divers Marine Life Rescue and WDCS -The Whale and dolphin Conservation Society

have been working hard to raise awareness of these issues and further info can be found on the respective websites.

A quote from the recent joint press statement requests the following;

" We ask people now not to swim with them and not to go up close to them in any water vessels.

It is also essential that they are not fed. The solitary dolphins can in most cases be watched from land and this is what we recommend.

If you do help to tame a dolphin, you are responsible for it's fate! "

Please observe the Dolphin Watching code when watching Wales and dolphins around the UK coast line.
